'No.26 Dart Marina', Dartmouth, South Devon, England.
Imagine treating yourself to the penthouse suite of a luxury spa hotel for a week, then add a private, elegantly furnished waters-edge terrace and your own private entrance and you’ll have a pretty accurate picture of No. 26 Dart Marina. This glamorous two-bedroom house is set within the grounds of the exclusive Dart Marina Hotel and shares use of its facilities including a sophisticated indoor pool, gym and Elemis spa, a funky water-side bistro and an elegant formal restaurant, plus you can order room service and enjoy free use of the spa and gym facilities, with discounts on treatments. That is of course if you can tear yourself away from the cosseted luxury of your own private escape which, room for room, probably costs less for a week than an equivalent hotel penthouse suite would cost for a night.
No. 26 was formerly the show house for the award-winning Dart Marina development and as such comes with all the top spec fittings, furnishings and professionally designed interiors, which blend a palette of taupes with elegant hardwood floors and oak furnishings. Along with a Poggenphol kitchen, complete with Smeg appliances such as a magnificent six-ring range oven, the most impressive of the long list of gadgets is the smart home system which controls the lighting, BOSE music system, 42” plasma TV (full sky package), curtains and even the wall-mounted pebble fireplace by remote control. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master suite has a super-king bed with the kind of river views that can make it very hard to get up in the morning! Those who can tear their eyes away from the view may be interested in the flatscreen TV, elegant desk (there’s free wireless broadband), huge fitted wardrobes and a luxurious fully tiled ensuite with bath and shower over. The second bedroom is equally luxurious and can be configured as a twin or super king-sized double. Without doubt the most memorable of all the fabulous features of this house, are its access to the elegant spa, option to order room service and, best of all, the private waterside terrace with mesmerising views whether enjoying morning espresso, lunch al-fresco or evening cocktails – mix them yourself or order them from the bar!
Dartmouth may be small but it’s a foodie-paradise being crammed with great little delis, bars and bistros. Be sure to try tours with lunch at nearby Sharpham Vineyard and Riverford Organics – both have well-respected bistro/cafes on-site. For a night ‘at home’, pick up some delicious local nibbles and fine wine at the nearby Smith Street Deli and relax under the stars on the house’s lovely marina-side terrace. Or, venture a few steps further and try the Dart Marina hotel’s glamorous Wildfire bistro with its feature fire-pit, or the gastro-pub fayre at the water-side Floating Bridge pub. For a special evening out, try dressing up for an evening of Art Deco glamour and a meal at the famous Burgh Island Hotel. For an extra romantic touch, book a treatment in the Dart Marina spa’s dual treatment room accompanied by a bottle of champagne on ice.
No.26 has two-bedrooms (a super-king and a super-king/twin). It can be rented from £800- £2,975 per week with discounts available for 2,3 and 4 night breaks and for couples (out of season). Special Introductory Offers: Save £100.00 off July or August week-long rentals if booked before 31st March. Or, just £800.00 per week in April, May and June (excluding school and Bank Holidays) for a couple, or £550.00 for 3 nights – a saving of up to £300!
