The Georgian exterior hides six exquisite guest rooms which combine king-sized beds, original artworks, monsoon showers, flat-screen TVs, entertainment systems, Aveda toiletries and well-stocked mini bars, with contemporary takes on traditional Welsh oak furniture and Melin Tregwynt blankets. The young family who run Llys Meddyg recently returned to their Welsh farming roots from London and now draw on the best local produce from Welsh Black Beef and lamb, to locally caught lobster and sea bass to create a delicious menu of contemporary classics. In fact, around 80 percent of the menu is sourced within the a 20-mile radius and many of the herbs from Llys Meddyg’s own gardens. For extra indulgence, crack open a bottle of finest champagne from the mini bar and order-in a aromatherapy or reflexology massage!
Set at the foot of Carningli (Mountan of Angels) and within a few minutes stroll from the harbour and slightly further to the glorious beach of Newport Sands, Llys Meddyg is a wonderful place to stay year round. In the hot summer months - Pembrokeshire enjoys its own microclimate thanks to its position on a gulf stream – there are miles of breathtakingly beautiful and almost untouched beaches to explore. Spring and autumn allow walkers 289km of coastal path to roam whilst taking in the abundant wildlife of the region, which includes rare birds, seals, dolphins and even whales. In winter, the rugged coastline is bewitchingly beautiful and there’s always a friendly hostelry with a roaring open fire to retreat to. A favourite of many is the huge inglenook fireplace in Llys Meddyg’s Cellar Bar, but other great spots include the Sloop Inn in Portgain (Cerys Matthew's favourite local) and the Druidstone above the beach at Druidstone. Don't miss a shopping trip to the Melin Tregwynt factory shop just outside of Fishguard, which sells their fabulous home accessories and famous funky blankets. The galleries and boutiques of Narbeth are great for picking up stylish contemporary home pieces and funky jewellery, whilst the delis have a fanastic array of loacl cheeses - many of which can be sampled at Llys Meddyg.
Llys Medcdyg has six stylish bedrooms, of which three boast contemporary sofas which can covert into double beds and can thus sleep four. Each room has a king-sized bed or twins that can zip into super-king sized doubles, romantic double-ended baths and bathroom with monsoon-style shower and with complimentary Aveda products. a fridge, flat-screen TV with entertainment system (loaded with music and DVDs) and internet access. Plus inspring original artworks by local artists. Room rates are from £90 - £130 per night (b&b) based on two adults.
